Overview

Bowman 45 cutter-rigged yacht, designed by Chuck Paine and built by Bowman Yachts Ltd, Southampton in 1994 but not put into service until after her display at the 1995 London Boat Show. Two owners since new, both of whom lived on board for extended periods and cruised extensively in European, Atlantic and Caribbean waters. Refitted by Rustlers at the start of the current ownership in 2009. Two double/twin cabins (1 forward and 1 aft), 2 pipe-cots and 1 other settee berth in the saloon, all fitted with lee-cloths for convenient use at sea. Fast and very strongly built, well maintained and fully fitted out for extended short-handed cruising by a couple or small family.

ENGINE AND PROPULSION
Main engine (original) Yanmar 4JH2E (naturally aspirated), with KM4-A gearbox.
Engine output rating 33.8kW (45.3hp) continuous at 3400rpm and 37.5kW (50.3hp) peak at 3600rpm.
Heat exchanger/exhaust manifold and mixing elbow replaced 2021.
Engine hours approximately 3,100hrs
19 inch 3-bladed Maxprop Classic propeller on a 1.25 inch stainless shaft with a PSS dripless seal, connected to the engine via an Aquadrive flexible coupling.
Original fixed 3-blade propeller kept as emergency spare.
Bowthruster (original) Sleipner Sidepower (5.3kW/7hp) with twin propellers
POWER GENERATION
Standard engine alternator charging through a Sterling Pro REG BW smart regulator which gives high charging rates even when the engine is idling.
Charge is split between the domestic and engine battery banks by a Sterling Pro-Split-R with a spare Vetus diode splitter.
Generator (original) Westerbeke 4.0BCD, 4kW, 220V 50Hz. Approximate engine hours 5940.
Heat exchanger replaced in 2022.

shower, if desired.
