Manufacturer supplied description
Designed with family cruising in mind, the Jeanneau 28.1 can provide comfortable accommodation for a crew of five or six, together with all their gear and provisions. The handling of the boat is designed to be easy for the average family crew, while at the same time providing exhilarating sailing. The Jeanneau 28.1's controls, including tiller and sail-handling, are light and easy for the inexperienced to use. The mainsail traveler is located on the coachroof and the sheet and other controls are conveniently tucked away at the foot of the bridge deck. There is a teak-lining on the seating and cockpit floor. A provision of a table base fitting in the cockpit means that the table can be used inside or out. The lined cockpit locker has ample space for sails and gear. There is a practical, forward facing window at the front of the coachroof. The transom has a built-in extension which makes easy boarding from the stern possible; this feature is also useful as a swim platform and in case of an emergency. The interior volume of the 28.1 belies her length. A particular feature is the large and airy double aft cabin which includes a hanging locker. The cabin is finished in rich velour and teak battens. The forward double berth can be ingeniously stowed for day time usage. The large head's compartment features a pressure shower, small table and a locker. The modern galley is formed in a practical L-shape and combines large work surfaces with a bar and cool box. The table has plenty of leg room and is adjacent to the electronics panel and it's controls.
