Overview

The Boreal range has a unique reputation as rugged all weather cruising yachts, capable of providing their owners with comfort and safety. Numerous notable voyages have been made, to some of the remotest corners of the world’s oceans.

The Boreal 44 features robust aluminium construction, clever sea-going design, large tankage, and an extremely comfortable interior, suitable for long term cruising.

The centreboard configuration offers cruising flexibility and seakeeping advantages, while the secure doghouse ensures that watchkeeping in bad weather is dry and comfortable.

‘Quid non?’ is a superb example of the marque, presented in outstanding condition. Red Ensign previously sold the owners Swan 40 and he was highly involved in Quid non?’s build process. This included stipulating some unique design modifications, including an integral hull rubbing strake, uprated gooseneck, genoa turning blocks & non-standard gantry. He also made very discerning choices in the yacht’s specification.

Upgrades during 2026 have included a set of new North 3DI sails and a backup autopilot system. Quid non? has an extensive selection of spares and a full inventory available by separate agreement.  The current berth in Plymouth Yacht Haven is available until August 2027.

If you are looking for an expedition yacht of this size and capability, or a robust cruising yacht on which to sail over the horizon, Quid non? should be on your shortlist. She is presented at a very significant reduction on the cost of a new equivalent, avoiding the protracted lead time and inevitable snagging that comes with a new build.
