Overview

Design and Reputation

The Sealine 42/5 is widely regarded as one of the best boats Sealine ever produced. Built between 2001 and 2010, she was ahead of her time in both layout and usability. Although marketed as a 42-footer, the extended cockpit increases her overall length to approximately 45 feet, which explains the 42/5 designation and gives her noticeably more space than many competitors.

Engines and Handling

This example is powered by twin Volvo Penta D6 370hp engines with approximately 860 hours, driving shaft drives. Handling is further enhanced by bow and stern thrusters, making close-quarters manoeuvring straightforward. As a result, she is easy to manage despite her size.

Accommodation and Comfort

Below deck, the layout offers two cabins and two heads, providing comfortable accommodation for owners and guests. Sealine’s reputation for excellent internal volume is well deserved here, with generous living space throughout. Comfort is further improved by central heating, making the boat suitable for extended cruising across the seasons.

Equipment and Maintenance

The specification is strong and practical. Recent works include engine servicing, a recent generator, two new domestic batteries, battery charger and inverter testing, and fresh antifouling applied for the winter season. Because these key items have already been addressed, the boat is offered as a well-sorted cruising package.

Condition and Availability

This is a very good example of a highly sought-after model, offered with an extensive equipment list and ready for extended cruising. The yacht has been reduced for a quick sale.

Broker's Comments

This is a proper 42/5 and a good one. The layout works, the engines are the right choice, and the overall condition stacks up. These boats earned their reputation for a reason, and this example shows why people still rate them so highly. The recent servicing and electrical work remove the usual early ownership spend, which makes a big difference. If you know Sealines, you’ll know why the 42/5 is considered the standout model. At this price point, and with the reduction in place, this is a serious opportunity.
