Overview

Aliana is a Rustler 42, designed by Stephen Jones and built by Rustler Yachts in Falmouth. Commissioned in August 2013, she has remained with her original owner from new and has been equipped specifically for serious offshore and long-distance cruising.

The Rustler 42 is a substantial cutter-rigged cruising yacht, combining a long encapsulated lead ballast keel, skeg-hung rudder and generous displacement with a sail plan designed to remain manageable when sailing short-handed but offer tremendous passage speeds. Aliana follows that philosophy closely, with twin furling headsails, provision for twin headsails downwind, dedicated heavy-weather sails and extensive self-sufficiency equipment including a Monitor wind vane steering.

Continuous upgrades and improvements include replacement Nanni N4.50 engine in 2020, new staysail and furler in 2024, replacement autopilot in 2025, new cockpit canvas in 2025 and complete standing rigging renewal in March 2026. Her electrical, charging and domestic systems have also received substantial investment, including a large AGM domestic bank, wind and solar generation, inverter, watermaker and comprehensive communications equipment.

Single aft heads arrangement allowing for a large forward master cabin, ideally suited for a couple to live in comfort.  Aliana is ready for a new owner.

Broker's Comments

Commissioned and owned by a very experienced yachtsman, Aliana has a well thought out and proven set up. Having won her class in the AZAB 2015 race confirming her ability to make swift, comfortable passages she has taken her current owner to the top of Norway and on a full circumnavigation. "The only boat to do that trip" were his greeting comments. Having experienced ORCA interactions (x 2!) and sailing away is a real testament to the strength and integrity of this beautiful 'sailing machine'. Call us for more.
